Our PROGRAMS
Local and Overseas Programmes
Since 2008, ACT Malaysia has been serving diasadvantaged and vulnerable communities in Malaysia and overseas, with a major focus on Mindanao, Philippines.
Mindanao has experienced decades of conflict, poverty and displacement. ACT Malaysia supports affected communities through many ways: Food Aid,Education, Livelihood Programmes and Emergency Relief for internally displaced persons, orphans, widows and low-income families.
To date, ACT Malaysia has constructed more than 2,000 tube well with hand pumps in Mindanao, over 1,000 in Cambodia, 30 in Bangladesh for Rohingya refugees and 14 in Pakistan’s Sindh region. We have also renovated eight mosques and distributed 1,275 solar lamps to remote communities. Our water supply project supply water from the mountain spring water to a community in Lamlahak, Lake Sebu with a piping system of about 800 meters from the top of the mountain.
Through collaboration with our partners, 13 students from Mindanao and Cambodia have received opportunities to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Jordan. Two students from Mindanao have also completed their secondary education in Malaysia through sponsorship secured with ACT Malaysia’s assistance.
